AquaSync ("we", "us", "our") provides aquarium tracking tools for hobbyists, including water-parameter logging, AI-powered insights, and a community feed. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, who we share it with, and the choices you have. By using AquaSync you agree to the practices described here.
• Account information: email address, display name, and (when applicable) Google or Apple sign-in identifier. • Tank data: parameter readings, photos you upload of your tanks or livestock, water-change history, daily summaries, AI chat messages, and community posts you create. • Device information: operating system, app version, crash logs, and an anonymous device identifier used for ad performance and basic analytics. • Payment information: handled entirely by Stripe — we never store full card numbers or CVV codes on our servers.
• Photo Library: AquaSync requests permission to read photos from your gallery only when you tap the attachment button to add a tank photo to an AI question or community post. Photos are only accessed at the moment you select them. • Microphone: AquaSync requests microphone access only when you tap the voice-message button in the AI Assistant. Audio is recorded, transcribed for the AI prompt, and discarded shortly afterward. • Camera: AquaSync does NOT request camera permission.
• To operate the service — store and display your tanks, parameter logs, photos, and posts. • To generate AI insights — your prompts (and any attached photos) are sent to our LLM providers (OpenAI and Google Gemini) for response generation. • To produce daily summaries and trend analysis from your historical parameter logs. • To moderate the community feed and prevent abuse, spam, or illegal content. • To send order confirmations and subscription renewal notices via email. • To show ads (Google AdMob) and measure their performance — see Section 6.
AquaSync relies on these processors to deliver its features. AquaSync displays banner ads and a one-time cold-start interstitial ad via Google AdMob. AdMob may use an advertising identifier to serve personalized ads. On first launch you are presented with a Google UMP consent screen where you can choose whether to allow personalized ads. You can change this choice anytime from your device settings (Android: Settings → Google → Ads; iOS: Settings → Privacy & Security → Apple Advertising).
We do NOT sell your personal information. We share data only with the third-party processors listed in Section 5, and only as needed to deliver the service. We may disclose data when required by law, valid legal process, or to protect the rights, safety, and property of AquaSync or its users.
Your account data is retained while your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from "More → Settings → Delete Account" inside the app. Deletion permanently removes all your tanks, parameter logs, photos, chat history, and community posts within 30 days. Anonymous analytics and ad-performance data may be retained longer in aggregated form.
AquaSync is intended for users 18 years of age and older. We do not knowingly collect personal data from minors. If you believe a minor has created an account, contact us at [email protected] and we will delete it.
Depending on where you live, you may have rights under GDPR (EU/UK), CCPA/CPRA (California), or other regional privacy laws — including the right to access, correct, port, or delete your personal data. Email [email protected] to exercise these rights. We respond within 30 days.
We use industry-standard safeguards including HTTPS/TLS in transit, encrypted database storage, hashed passwords (bcrypt), and access controls on our backend systems. No system is 100% secure, but we work continuously to protect your data.
Your data may be processed in the United States and other countries where our service providers operate. By using AquaSync you consent to these transfers.
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be announced in-app and require renewed acceptance. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision.
